Wednesday, October 21 at 12:00pm
Seascapes Dining Room in the Crocker Dining Hall - Limited Seating
International students and scholars can face unique challenges pursuing research in the United States. In this community-building event, we will come together as scientists and trainees at all career stages to discuss the specific experiences of foreign-born scholars working in the United States. This will include conversation about research funding, work-life balance, and mentorship. This workshop is organized by the NAVBO Growth and Enrichment Committee and will be structured as guided informal conversations moderated by Dr. Jennifer Fang (Tulane University) and Dr. Pengchun Yu (Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation) -- both of whom have first-hand experience with many of these challenges.
