Mentoring Early-Stage Investigators

Description

David Gordon, MD (who has held various administrative and leadership positions), and has spent decades working with and mentoring early-stage investigators will share his experience and advise current junior investigators about navigating this stage of their careers. Topics will include the importance of having an academic mission and choosing an institution which agrees with that mission, how to secure a faculty position, how to negotiate a contract, how to identify red flags during hiring, and handle issues concerning diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) during the hiring process, etc. Following the moderated presentation, Dr. Gordon will also answer questions from the audience.
