"Defining the key growth factor-dependent signaling and extracellular matrix remodeling events necessary for capillary network assembly and maturation"
This webinar will feature Dr. George Davis from the University of South Florida School of Medicine in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology
BiographyDr. Davis is a recognized investigator in the field of angiogenesis, vascular tube morphogenesis and extracellular matrix. He pioneered the use of three-dimensional extracellular matrices as a platform for the study of blood vessel assembly in vitro and has identified key factors and signals that control these events. This work has elucidated molecular mechanisms governing capillary morphogenesis and regression. More recently, his research has shed light on how aberrant cell signaling can result in the formation of vascular malformations and has developed novel in vitro models of this process. Dr. Davis currently has 152 publications and is supported by three NIH R01s as a principal investigator.
